Help Working Families In Our Region This Holiday Season

It's no secret that working people struggling in this economy - and some of them are members of our unions. As the holidays approach there are union brothers, sisters and siblings who aren't sure they'll be able to provide a holiday meal for their families.
You and your Locals have the opportunity to make a difference in these families' holidays by donating your time (and money) to the Longview Kelso Building and Construction Trades Council's annual ham donation to Lower Columbia CAP for its Meals on Wheels program serving Cowlitz and Wahkiakum counties.
Each year LKBCTC rallies our area's unions to purchase hams from our union grocer Cascade Select Market, and then deliver these much needed proteins Lower Columbia CAP. This program, which started in 2008 with a $500.00 donation, has grown to an annual event with Labor and community partners donating more than $15,000.00!
This year the need is greater than ever. Please make a donation, and forward this flierto your Executive Boards and encourage them to donate to this program by December 1st. Contact LKBCTC President Mike Bridges at mikebridges@ibew48.com or (360) 431-1472 for information on how to deliver your (and your union's) donation.
Then get that Santa hat ready to go with your union gear! Mike will let participants know about Donation Day once all the pieces are in place.
Please help our sisters, brothers and siblings have a happy holiday - make a donation, and make sure your union donates to this year's ham drive too.
