On June 1st the United States Supreme Court issued a ruling in Glacier Northwest v. Teamsters Local 174.

As members of Organized Labor work to process the implications of this decision, we wanted to share some of the statements leaders in our movement have made.

AFL-CIO President Liz Shuler said, "Today, the U.S. Supreme Court sided with corporations over working people. But when the facts are revealed on remand, it will be clear the union acted properly and the truck drivers’ strike was protected by federal law..." Read the full statement here.

Washington State Labor Council President April Sims said, "The Glacier Northwest decision changes nothing. The momentum of our labor movement cannot be stopped..." Read the WSLC's joint statement with Teamsters Local 174 and MLK Labor here.

It will time to understand the full impact of this decision, but one thing is clear: as President Shuler says, we will continue to fight for workers, and we know that we will succeed.
