As IAM W536's strike against Weyerhaeuser continues, the Longview / Kelso Building Trades Council has made a strong statement of support for these workers who are fighting for living wages, good health care and a secure retirement.

In a letter sent to Mill Manager Steve Harms, LKBTC president Mike Bridges says

The members of Woodworkers W536 helped Weyerhaeuser make 2021 one of the most profitable years on record, and deserve a proposal that reflects their efforts. It is not surprising that the employers last, best and final offer was overwhelmingly rejected by the IAMAW members. Asking workers who are already suffering from record inflation to pay 30% more for their healthcare costs while making record profits is insulting to say the least.

Please support these workers standing up to this multi-million dollar company.  Contact Local W536 at 360-425-3000 or woodworkers536@comcast.net for details on how you can help.
